Moberg Multimedia used 3D animation to exhibit the functionality of an innovative medical device while Embrella Cardiovascular, Inc. developed the product.
The device is inserted into a catheter in an artery in the arm and is positioned at the top of the aorta, over the openings of the arteries leading to the brain. The device consists of collapsible petals around an oval-shaped frame covered with a porous membrane. The membrane permits blood flow to the carotid arteries while simultaneously deflecting embolic material away from these vessels during a valve or aortic aneurysm repair.
The animation shows the medical problem - emboli traveling to the head vessels - and then demonstrates the use of the Embrella device as the solution.
